Study Reveals the TV Shows Americans Think They Have The Best Decor

OnePoll recently conducted research commissioned by the furniture brand Article reported that several Americans wish they resided in the sets of their favorite TV Shows. The research confirmed that at a third of Americans would reside in the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Mansion. 

The décor inspiration from The Fresh Prince of Belair was inspired by Georgian and Neoclassical architecture paired with white oak to make it more relevant. The other study participants would reside in the Big Bang Theory Pasadena house, sex and the swanky city apartments, and the Brady Brunch’s house. 

Americans think their homes would be perfect for a movie

The study targeted 2,000 Respondents and how much T.V. shows can influence their taste in décor. It revealed how their fans love the modern home stacks on T.V. shows. 

The study authors revealed that 32% would book a destination vacation so that they could drive past an Iconic T.V. or Movie location. A few of the Respondents wouldn’t mind having their favorite T.V. show cast as their neighbors. 

The findings were that 29% of the Respondents would prefer the Big Bang Theory cast, 23% the Fresh Prince of Belair, and 24% friends. Additionally, 59% of the Respondents believed their homes would be perfect for T.V shows, and most believed that they had the nicest homes in their friend circles.  

Americans try to model their homes after the background of TV shows

The research highlighted that several respondents paid attention to the background of their favorite shows rather than the content. A few of the Respondents admitted to modeling their home after shows such as the Circle, Virgin River, and Bridgeton. 

Study authors inquired about pieces of furniture that Respondents would buy from the shows; 35% chose the Cherry Park sofa from Friends, 29% chose the dining- set from Golden Girls, and 37% chose the captain’s chair from Star Trek Enterprises. 

Chandra Borek, an interior designer from Article, stated that styles are altered over time, which was why most Americans make changes to their homes after five months. The study collaborated with this after 84% of the Respondents had a sense of joy after improvements.
