You Can Track Your COVID-19 Stimulus Check Through IRS’ Get My Payment App

Following the coronavirus pandemic, the government came with the stimulus package to shield families from the pandemic’s shocks. For those that are yet to get their stimulus payment, they can use the IRS tracking app when checking their payment status.

Get My Payment tracking app shows the status stimulus check

It is easy to check the status of your payment and how to receive your check directly to your bank account, prepaid debit card, or mail as a check. The IRS’s Get My Payment app helps you view this information and get your payment.

To use the tool is quite easy, and all you need is to enter certain information and take some time online to get information about the status of your relief payment check. By the end of last week, the IRS had made close to 152 million payments, but there is no reason to be worried about why you have not received yours yet. The tracking app lets you track the status of your payment, and although there have been glitches when using the app, the IRS indicates that most issues have been rectified, and people can check the date for their stimulus payments.

Details to input to check the status

In the tracking, the app clicks on the Get My Payment button to check your payment status. After clicking OK on the page, you will enter your Individual Taxpayer Identification Number or Social Security Number, your address, date of birth, and postal or ZIP code. Details of your payment status will be displayed on when it is due or not yet determined.

The IRS started dispatching the stimulus payment last month to accounts of millions of residents that have set up accounts with government. Equally prepaid debit cards of those whose banking details are not available to the government will receive their payment. Some will get their checks through the mail. Also, the IRS will send a letter after 15 days of issuing the payment detailing the amount you received and through which channel.
