The Worst Movies of 2017

2017 had some amazing movies, but it also had some major duds. Since I already talked about the best movies, it’s about time to talk about the worst. Again, just my opinion! But if you don’t like it, then you must be a fan of some terrible sort of cinema…

First of all, The Emoji Movie must have a spot. I mean, what the hell were they thinking with this hideous piece of whatever it is. The story is shallow, the concept is ridiculous, and the jokes are so dumb, that not even a mentally disabled person would laugh.

Then there’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Luc Besson’s latest fail. Don’t get me wrong, the guy is a genius, he gave us Leon the Professional and the Fifth Element, both amazing movies. But he just can’t make anything good lately. Valerian is just overly long and barely any fun. Even though it has some of the best visuals one can create.

The Mummy. Just don’t try and a make a movie universe out of everything…

Then we have Fifty Shades Darker. Another one of these excruciating cinematic bores. This one is even worse than the first, it causes even more pain. And not fun pain like it’s supposed to be (funny puns, I have them) but the bad kind. The really bad kind. At least they are finally done with these because, at the time of writing this, the last part was already out. Yes, of course it’s bad!

This movie and all the other that the explosions guy makes deserves a special place on every list of this kind. Yes, I’m talking about Transformers: The Last Knight. And no, I haven’t watched it, and I’m not going to. But I am completely certain that it’s one of the worst “things” of 2017. I can stake my life on that.

The Shack. A very successful attempt at destroying an amazing book.

Geostorm. Baywatch. Ha? What? These are actually movies? Really?!

The Snowman. I was really looking forward to watching this. And then I did. And I wished I didn’t. You know, sometimes movies are rushed and are left with many holes which turns them into bad movies. But this one goes overboard. It succeeds at making the most important things about it seem rushed and barely finished. Bravo. It’s always good to fail at the most important part and do alright with the rest…
