The majority of young Americans expect to RSVP to each event they receive invitations to, and two out of three are gearing up for their greatest summer yet this year.
According to a poll of 2,000 adults, 67% of Gen Z participants and 65% of millennial participants overbooked themselves with activities this summer, and 68% say they intend to accept invitations to every special event they get.
Around 68% of people sleep well while away
Almost half (52%) of all participants are spending their holiday time traveling with other people in mind, with travel intentions soaring following a two-year halt due to the pandemic. Only 23% of respondents said they were going on a personal holiday.
The study, which was sponsored by Mattress Firm and carried out by OnePoll, also revealed that 68% of people sleep the “best” while away from their home, with 75% reporting that they awaken feeling more rested than usual.
The fragrance of fresh sheets (43 percent), the mattress (41 percent), or being able to sleep in (39%) are the respondents’ top picks for the finest aspects of sleeping away from their homes.
Mattress Firm’s lifestyle expert Tra Bodge said, “Going to bed while you’re away from home can sometimes make the space feel more relaxing and inviting as it’s usually free from normal disruption. A relaxing sleep environment that is optimized for temperature, light and minimal noise is essential to getting quality rest and it’s a good idea to create that sanctuary at home as well.”
People keep up with bedtime rituals when they travel
The study also discovered that even when people travel away from home, bedtime rituals continue to be important. The leading rituals people follow both at home and while traveling are using a white noise device (41%), cleaning their face (40%), working out (39%), and bringing a specific pillow (39%).
Strangely, respondents prioritize completing their nighttime skincare routine more when they are traveling (37%) than when they are at home (32%). The same is true when it comes to washing their hair (31% on vacation vs. 28% at home).
